What is it that draws you day-in-and-day-out or just once-a-month-in-and-once-a-month-out to my prodigious mumblings on johnvano.com?
- Is it the satire?
- The random ruminations from my day?
- The family photos?
- The travel recaps?
- Is it to see a frustrated novelist divert his writing time into a useless blog?
- The growing legend that is "Man Trip?"
- Or do you come for the scarily correct "American Idol" predictions?
- Do you visit for social change?
- Are you a stalker?
- Have you not laughed until you've come here?
Is it my non-award-winning photography?- Are you hoping to see some sort of growth in my person-ness?
- Do I inspire you?
- Are my pecs your private obsession?
- Are you visiting for the book and movie reviews--which have been missing for awhile?
- Do you get tips on what to read from my book log on the right?
- Maybe sports are your thing, and you enjoy the collective consciousness of fandom on these pages?
Whatever it is, I'd love to know. Actually, I think I might throw in a little more of the serious (or even the historical) on these pages soon. If you like it, let me know. And if everyone says that they just have to have more of the "fake stories"--well, I'll write some more of those, too.

Okay, I'll bite. The first thing that comes to my mind is the originality. There's a definite personality to your blog. There's nothing worse than a blog which just tries to copy everyone else and is afraid to be itself. Such is not the case here.
Movie and book reviews are great, Man Trip is a winner, stories about emulating other people's accents right to their face are killer, fast food stories keep me glued...but I'll pass on the American Idol recaps. More stories from your homeland of Minnesota would please this reader. Also, how's that novel coming along?

All of the above minus the sports, pecs, man trip and growth. Plus my man thinks you're a really great guy.

For me, it's dreaming of the pecs as I'm reading!! I also love the family photos and any stories about the fam (but I have a horse in the race!!) I'm kinda a stalker too I guess. But in the best possible way!! Love everything about your blog honey!!

I love the way you caress a phrase with such tender yet delicate force. You are a maestro with words!!

I visit this site for many of the reasons listed, in that it is a one-stop melange of everthing from the mundane to the outrageous. I really enjoy your perspective on things, even more so since I actually know you. Keep up the good work, but don't let it distract you from your novel - I want to see your books for sale in my favorite bookstore!

I love the family photos, of course, and the funny musings on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If I had to pick something that I could do without, it would be the American Idol recaps. I wish the show in general would go away. :o) But apparently, that's just me. ha!

This is where I get my news. More "Fair and Accurate" than Fox News.
