It's the oldest trick in the history of sales. Get someone started on your product for next-to-nothing, and once you get them addicted, you can charge them an arm and a leg.
I'm running low on my snap-on floss refills, so I thought I'd pick up a new package. But I forget how expensive those things are--5 bucks! Meanwhile, you can get a new floss handle with a single-pack of snap-ons for less than half that much. Beware, future flossers... once they get you hooked, you're screwed.
I did find a way to get a free sample flosser... get hooked for yourself.
