Rookie Adrian Peterson dropped 296 yards and 3 TDs on the Chargers today. He averaged 9.9 yards per carry! It is an unbelievable feeling as a Vikings fan to have a back like that. To have such an elite, top-of-the-league runner is something I've never experienced as a fan of the purple. It's been fun to have a great air attack--but now it's time to burn up the grass. Chuck Foreman, Herschel Walker, Robert Smith, Michael Bennett... all good players, but AP has the makings of one of the all-timers.
Through 8 games: 8 TDs and 1,036 yards. Think of this in terms of Barry Sanders and his entire rookie season: 14 TDs, 1,470 yards. Wow.

I had to do a double-take when I clicked on to nfl.com tonight. 296???? And it's only his 8th game as a pro? Unheard of. Look out, Emmitt.
