I was thinking about how much I miss the old days... the days I hardly knew.
We used to make our way by making something, fixing something, selling something, growing something, or serving somebody... simple, but it came with a lot of sweat and effort, I figure.
Today, we're all camped in front of a computer screen. What do we do all day?
Don't get me wrong--I love my computer and my connection to the world... I love to write, and I'm not complaining. It's just that... we're all interfacing with screens, staring ahead into static ('ever seen what a computer screen looks like on a TV monitor? Makes you wonder what your eyes go through all day).
Rather than contributing to the greater good--in real, tangible ways--I feel like we're all just pounding away in a made-up world, separate from each other, from the outdoors, from what makes us alive. Why do you think we all act so starved for air when we come out of the office at 5:00?
That's just me... and what I'm thinking.

AMEN.
